Re: [AMIA-L] UCLA Festival of Preservation-LA Times
Oh yes- Hooray for screening "Multiple Sid", which played in Anchorage
in April. It's just a gem. Check out Sid's "It sudses and sudses and
sudses" too!

Thanks for sending the link to these articles. High-profile attention
like this is always a good thing, and the Turan piece was wonderfully
gushy on the subject of preservation; I wish I could attend the
festival. But reading about it makes me proud to be a part of this
profession as I toil away looking for the local treasures buried here.
Congratulations to everyone involved!

"Despite all the sunshine, or maybe because of it, Los Angeles tends to
be a hidden city, a place whose great treasures are not always the
obvious ones. So it is that the city's most surprising, most
stimulating,
most invigorating film event is not the Oscars, not even one of L.A.'s
sprightly film festivals, but the UCLA Film and Television Archive's
splendid and irreplaceable Festival of Preservation. "
