Re: [AMIA-L] Looking for...

Has anyone mentioned the projector booth scene in "Fight Club" where he
explains the changeover (with the aid of a fake changeover)? Also it's worth
listening to the commentary on the DVD at that point. And there's all the
stuff about how projectionists (or at least Tyler Durden) change the films,
which is very amusing

"Inner Circle" has Tom Hulce demonstrating how to lace a projector in record
time.

"Man with a Movie Camera" shows the projectionist preparing to show... "Man
with a Movie Camera"

I think "Potselu Meri Pikford" ("The Kiss of Mary Pickford") (Komarv, 1927)
also has some projection booth scenes (but I can't quite recall).

In fact the whole cinema as a subject for cinema theme of the time would be
worth looking at ("Cameraman's Revenge", "Sherlock Jnr" etc etc etc)

In Yutkevich's "The Black Sail" (1929) an audience is shown "Battleship
Potemkin" and are terrified at the end as they think the ship is going to
burst through the screen. Don't know the film but there could be a
projection booth scene in that as well.
