[AMIA-L] NYC local TV Footage 1980s

Dear List:
Would anyone know where early 1980s local TV News footage might
be these days.  Besides the networks, I have heard that some WPIX
(Channel 11) news footage and maybe some from WWOR (Channel
9) is in other archives.  Both of these stations have gone through
various ownerships since then and currently don't license footage
(and, at last check-in, say that they only have footage from the 1990s).
I am assuming most of this would be on 3/4" or film.  Any comments
or suggestions regarding where local footage might end up would be
helpful.
