[AMIA-L] 1964 film from Bell
Innes Westermann, from Uden Associates in London is looking for
information about footage from a Bell Telephone and Telegraph film
called "Before It's Too Late". (Apparently, Bell Telephone no longer
has any record of it.):
"We are a London based Production Company and we are currently
producting documentary about the history of car manufacturing.
On one archive tape that we have obtained is a film called 'Before
It's Too Late', produced by the Bell Telephone and Telegraph company
in
1964. It is a film about car safety and seatbelts. The archivist told
us that the crash testing footage used was footage from the USC.
Unfortunately I do not have any further details.
"As we would like to use some of the footage in our documentary, we
need to obtain a licence for this material. Therefore we had hoped
that
someone at the USC would know if the USC still holds the copyright to
the footage or if not then who does."
Unfortunately, our archive was not in existence in 1964, so I don't
believe the material was acquired from us. Ms. Westermann first
contacted Valerie Schwan at the University of Southern California (the
_other_ USC 8^), and Valerie is not familiar with it, either.
If you have any information or helpful suggestions, you can contact Ms.
Westermann directly at iwestermann@xxxxxxxx .
Any death threats, flames, or sales pitches, please send directly to
me.
