[AMIA-L] SAFE, CHEAP FILM CLEANER

Goo-Gone has two major shortcomings: 1) it is very expensive to use as a
film cleaner, and 2) IT STINKS--terrible smell. For years I have used
Carpel-o-Peel as a spot cleaner for dirty film. It has no odor; it is not a
carcinogen, so no gas mask is required to use it; it is safe to touch, so
you can use a cloth moistened with this mineral spirits cleaner and no find
your skin discolored; and a gallon of the stuff is very cheap.
Carpel, a company that sells recycled videotapes, sells it as a solvent
for gummy labels. But Carpel-o-Peel unsticks everything--even band-aid
residue on your skin.
Several years ago, I discovered that it works excellently on films: no
fumes, no residue, no chemical interaction with the film. In short, it's a
great tool for collector and archivist.
My supplier is Matt Ender. He can be reached at: 877-246-0712. Try it,
you'll love it.
