Re: [AMIA-L] Motorcycle Bad Boys (and Girls) in Cinema
Here are a couple of more that are a lot of fun:
HELL'S BELLES (1970)--a biker version of
WINCHESTER'73. Instead of a rifle our hero attempts to
reclaim his stolen bike. It features a great Les
Baxter score and actor Adam Rourke--the king of
drive-in biker movies.
THE SAVAGE SEVEN (1968)--a loose remake of SEVEN
SAMURAI (ok...more likely THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN) in
which biker outlaws assist American Indians in
defending their reservation from mercenary bikers.
Produced by Dick Clark and directed by Richard Rush.
Of course there is always Roger Corman's THE WILD
ANGELS (1967).
Although I have not been able to see them, these two
sound fascinating:
BLACK ANGELS (1970)--a biker film that explores
(exploits) race relations between two rival biker
gangs: one black and one white. Also known as BLACK
BIKERS FROM HELL. I've been warned that this one is so
bad its good.
WEREWOLVES ON WHEELS (1971)--a biker gang, devil
worshiping monks, and werewolves. Sounds like a real
howler.
Best,
Brandon Crawford Smith
