I think you raise a very useful topic. I find it fascinating learning how
others got into this field and, just as importantly, stayed in it - and I
know others do too. Personal stories can be a source of inspiration and
affirmation.
A personal "story" is quite different from a CV (which only explains what
you did, not how or why you did it.) Perhaps it's a potential feature for
the Newsletter or "The Moving Image". There are, by definition, over a
thousand stories behind the thousand-plus subscribers to this listserv!
