[AMIA-L] BEAUTY PARADE and Val Lewton

Hello,
I posted an inquiry to the list a couple of months back regarding a 
documentary project about Val Lewton for which I'm conducting the research 
and received quite a few helpful responses, so I'm hoping someone might be 
able to help out again.

Lewton's son remembers his father making an appearance on an early 
television talent contest show as a celebrity guest. This would have been 
sometime prior to March 1951, as Lewton died that month. Unfortunately, 
he's unable to remember either the title or the airdate of the show. We've 
determined that the program was most likely one aired only in Los Angeles.

Thanks to the assistance of the staff at the UCLA Film and Television 
Archive, it seems likely that the show in question was one called BEAUTY 
PARADE, a program which often featured appearances by industry figures 
such as Preston Sturges and Katy Jurado. Unfortunately, the archive has no 
copies of this program in its holdings and no one consulted is aware of 
any remaining kinescopes which might exist.

Would anyone happen to know of any existing copies of this program, 
whether involving Lewton or otherwise, or know anything about this or any 
other television appearance by him? 

 Also, I've had some difficulty in trying to confirm the broadcast dates 
of this show, so would appreciate hearing from anyone who might know these 
or have any general background on the show.
