I don't see a problem with this.  Not all of the film in the world can be saved forever, so at least it's being put to some interesting and crafty use (at least in the first case, not sure what's going on with the second one).  I don't think crafts people are going to cause the death of film.

Recently I found some very beautiful purses made from 35mm motion picture film (new prints it seemed) at a boutique in Rio de Janeiro and got them as gifts for two friends that are FILM archivists.  And they both loved them.  Maybe librarian friends would like the microfilm creations.  Actually, that gives me an idea for Christmas presents...
