The complete list archive is currently located at Conservation OnLine (CoOL)
a site founded by Walter Henry, formerly of Stanford University. For 22 years,
since 1987, Walter brought together all branches of the conservation and preservation
field in one home, as well as providing a home for allied arts such as the book
arts. CoOL was Web 2.0 before there was such a thing, and he was concerned about
digital preservation before others gave it a thought. On June 10, 2009 it was
announced that CoOL is being shut down (among other areas at Stanford) as part
of cost cuttings brought on by the current economic crisis. What will happen
to the site is unclear, but options are being pursued. Thank you Walter for
everything these past 15 years. If it hadn't been for you this list would likely
not have been started when it did and certainly not become the resource it has
become.
