Kensol is an excellent brand of hot stamping presses, which come in a variety of sizes. The Center for Book Arts has a 3-ton Kensol with several chases for mounting photoengravings up to 7" x 13", and several varieties of type holders.

I teach a course, usually once a year, on the use of this machine-- what it can do and how to do it. It is a hand-lever operated press.

Kensol machines also come with pneumatic or hydraulic heads, automatic roll feeds for the stamping foils, automatic dwell controls adjustable to 1/100 second, etc. The value of a Kensol depends on what model it is and what accessories it has. You can always get an idea by finding out the details and calling a dealer in used Kensols, like Ernest Schaeffer in New Jersey.
