ON MARKETING BOOKS ONLINE
=09To help meet the need for up-to-the-minute information on how to promote
books on the Internet, the Small Press Center will sponsor a workshop as pa=
rt
of New York is Book Country on Thursday, September 24th from 5:30 till 7:00=
pm
titled =93Strategies for Marketing Books on the Internet.=94 Led by Doris =
Booth,
Editor-in-Chief of the website Authorlink!, the session will be tailored fo=
r
writers, small press publishers, and members of the general public, and wil=
l
show how to use the Internet as a powerful marketing tool in assessing dema=
nd
and in getting book titles seen and sold in the current competitive
marketplace.
=09Demonstrations and discussions will cover:
=B7 the hard realities of what online marketing can and cannot accomplish
=B7 using the Internet to develop the most marketable book subjects
=B7 exploring the potential of online writing services, bookseller sites, a=
nd
publicity outlets.
=09A host of related topics will also be presented, among them: clear
definitions of electronic publishing and electronic marketing; state-of-the=
-
art news of on-demand printing; proven ways to reach targeted market niches=
;
methods of creating strong marketing plans for Internet use; and many more.
=09The workshop will be held at the Small Press Center, 20 West 44th Street=

Manhattan. It is free to members. A $10.00 admission charge applies for t=
