[BKARTS] Pressman's caps Photographed
To friends far and wide-
This morning Lynn Padwe photographed your Pressman's Caps at The Williams
Residence of the Salvation Army in NYC. Each senior model selected the cap that
they felt best suited them and posed
with great animation and glee in front of a colorful backdrop. The room was
full of laughter as they primped and prepared to be photographed.
One woman posed elegantly with her ivory headed cane and cap made from the
financial pages of the NY Times lined with fake fur (Fran Kaufman, artist).
Another made a silly face while wearing a cap made from the funnies, curled
ribbons and jingle bells (Mimi Weisbond, artist). A resident who said she'd never
had an opportunity to be a bride looked quite pleased to be wearing a veiled
bridal cap made from the wedding announcements pages (Ann Grasso, artist). A
Chinese Wedding cap adorned with Origami birds and coined ribbons was
dramatically worn by a "former Thespian" (Shu-Ju Wang, artist).
Ninety year old Elizabeth Blackert looked stunning in a hat collaged with
marblized papers and colorful beaded leather ribbons (Yehuda Miklaf, artist). The
morning was a wonderful experience for everyone who participated.
Lynn's portraits and the caps will be shown at New York Public Library-The
Donnell Library Center from September 25 to October 15, 2004.
Thanks for sending your caps. Though there isn't another photo opportunity,
I'm happy to accept more caps for the exhibition.
