Re: [BKARTS] German bookbinding supplies
There are numerous sources of supplies in Germany. In Hamburg there is
Schmedt <http://www.schmedt.de>. There is also Geräte, Material und
Werkzeuge für Papierrestauratoren <http://www.gmw-gabikleindorfer.de/>
which has a webshop. Another approach would be to do a search on Google.de
<http://www.google.de> for buchbinderbedarf. This can be narrowed down by
city. There is also an online (national) Yellow Pages (Gelbe Seiten) at
<http://www.gelbeseiten.de/yp/quick.yp> Use the same search term
Buchbinderbedarf but add your city/postal code.
You might also suggest that they ask on the Bücher Binden list at
<http://de.groups.yahoo.com/group/buecher_binden/>.
If these friends learned the trade in Germany, they should also be aware of
vendors and sources for information. It's all pretty much a require for
getting your Gesellenbrief (Journeyman status) and certainly expected for
Meister.
Hope this helps.

Friends in Germany are thinking of starting a book repair shop - does
anyone on the list know of German bookbinding supplies...or used equipment
dealers in Germany?
