Creative Arts Workshop announces the following workshop:

Pop-Up Paper Structures Workshop
Instructors: Carol Barton
Saturday and Sunday, January 28 & 29, 10:00-4:00
A special kind of creative magic awaits you in this workshop. You will 
learn basic on-the-fold pop-up structures, then progress through a 
series of more complicated three-dimensional constructions. Emphasis 
will be on developing an understanding of the simple mechanics involved 
in this art of “paper engineering”. A slide show on the history of 
pop-up and moveable books will be included. This is an ideal class for 
artists, teachers, graphic designers and anyone who loves to play with 
paper. Carol Barton is a book artist, curator and arts administrator 
who has published several editioned books and has organized local and 
national shows of artists’ books. She has taught across the country and 
is on the faculty of The University of the Arts in Philadelphia. Her 
work is exhibited internationally and is in numerous collections, 
including the Museum of Modern Art. Her most recent book is The 
PocketPaperEngineer, a pop-up how-to book. Cost: $150; members: $139
