The Campbell-Logan Bindery expands into Asia

The Campbell-Logan Bindery, Inc. is pleased to announce that it has 
purchased an   interest in the Japanese digital printing company Feng 
Shui Co., Ltd.  Feng Shui is a Japanese subsidiary of the giant Soney 
Industries International, electronics firm.

Gregor Campbell, President of the Campbell-Logan Bindery said, 
"Through our contacts with Japanese suppliers we learned that Soney 
and its Feng Shui printing company wished to enter the publishing, 
printing and binding on demand business. They needed a partner that 
was highly skilled and had the knowledge to manufacture all types of 
book structures."

This new venture will combine Campbell-Logan's skill in binding with 
with Feng Shui's digital imaging technologies and Soney's electronics.

Individual book text will be sent via Soney satellite to the 
Campbell-Logan plant in Minneapolis for "same day" binding in either 
western style or Japanese stab sewn format. Finished books will be 
shipped via Federal Express next day service, world wide, to any 
customer or book store who has placed an order. In most cases a 
customer in North America will have their book within 24 hours and 
Asian or European customers within 48 hours!

Campbell expects to begin  the new operation by the middle of March 
and will be running  24/7 by the first of April." 

Campbell says "Same day turn around on binding in a variety of styles 
is the key to the whole operation but Soney's the bank." The new 
cooperative venture will bear the Soney name, "Soney On Demand Books"
