Re: [BKARTS] artist book marketing opportunity
Hello,
I will appreciate any feedback about this.
I was considering participating in the Artist Book News as it sounds
like a reasonable idea, but I was put off by not so professionally
looking newsletter itself: with typographic compromises going way
farther than what I am used to accept as comfortable for reading and
professionally looking. Is it only me paying attention to where and
how information about my book appears, because I am a professional
designer and typographer? Perhaps it does not matter? Perhaps what
matters is that the information gets out?
Any feedback i'll appreciate.
Thank you.

Become more visible to the lucrative niche market of library book

Sign up today to promote one of your books in the Artist Book News!
Only 7 spaces left.
This newsletter will feature professional book artists. This is a
commercially printed full color 4 page newsletter. While this is a
marketing piece to promote and sell the work of the included
artists, it is designed to be informational, and of a quality of
design and printing to be seen (and kept) as a valuable reference
and resource material.
The target market are public and private special collections, and
artist book collections in public, college, and university
libraries. Libraries are a huge, yet hard to reach, market for
artist books.
Here's the info on the next Artist Book News:
There will be 16 spots, just like the previous (below) newsletter,
with the same amount of room for text and photo. This newsletter
will be mailed first class directly to librarians known to be
interested in and who buy artist books in the US, Canadian and some
foreign.

The marketing fee will cover the newsletter design, printing,
addressing, and first class mailing costs. This fee is $200.
Reservations should be made as soon as possible to hold your space.
Payment will be due by Aug 31st, check, money order, or PayPal.
Photos (300ppi or greater) and text (unformatted .txt or .doc)
will be due by Sept 30th. You will get to proof the final copy
before going to print. Mailing will be near the end of October.
Don't miss this opportunity, email me today to reserve your space.
Cheers, Jill
