Multi-signature Hardcover Book and Slip case
Tania Baban
Learn how to construct a hardcover book using decorative papers and
bookcloth. Sew signatures into a text block and build a slip case for the book.

Button Mechanical Tightback
Charlene Mathews
The button mechanical tightback is a variation on the mechanical tightback
structure taught in previous classes. Two sewing needles are used and the
signatures are sewn through buttons on the spine.

Terry Braunstein Lecture
Terry Braunstein, creator of the City of Cerritos' 50th anniversary
sculpture to be dedicated in the Cerritos Civic Center on Monday, November 20, will
present a special program in the Skyline Room of the Cerritos Library on
Sunday, December 10, at 2pm. She will discuss her work as a book artist as well as
a designer for works of public art. The program is free and open to the
public. For more information, please call the library at 562-916.1342.
Braunstein’s work will be displayed in the library through December.
