[BKARTS] Action/Interaction: Book/Arts Conference
I'm pleased to announce that registration is open for
Action/Interaction: Book/Arts Conference
June 8-10, 2007
Columbia College Chicago Center for Book and Paper Arts
The conference will be an opportunity for students and practioners in the
book arts field to question and explore what we do as artists and why, and
to raise the level of critical discourse in the field.
The conference program will engage participants through lectures and
interactive discussion sessions. An accompanying exhibit surveying recent
work from centers of book arts around the country will provide an
opportunity to examine current trends in the field. The book fair will
offer an additional venue to investigate contemporary work as students,
artists, publishers, and vendors showcase and sell their art. And for those
participants interested in sharing their work in an alternative way, an Open
Mike Night will be a occasion for readings, performances, and other
interactive displays of book arts.
