[BKARTS] SoCal APHA: Typecasting at the International Printing Museum
Announcing the next American Printing History Association Southern
California Chapter program:
April 28, 2007, 10:00am-noon
Presentation on typecasting by Mark Barbour at the International
Printing Museum.
Mark Barbour, Executive Director of the International Printing
Museum, will give a presentation on hand typecasting, the Linotype
machine, the Monotype Thompson typecaster, and hopefully even cast
some Chinese or Japanese characters! The International Printing
Museum was founded in 1988 by David Jacobson and Ernest A. Lindner
and features The Lindner Collection of Antique Printing Machinery.
The collection has continued to grow and it is now considered among
the premier collections on exhibit in the world. It is a dynamic
museum that brings to life one of the world's most significant
collections of printing machinery through working demonstrations and
theater presentations. Light refreshments will be available.
