Shrink wrapping

I would like to communicate with people who have (had) experience shrink
wrapping brittle books in-house as a preservation program strategy.  I
vaguely recall that some institutions discussed this practice during a
Preservation of Library Materials committee presentation at an American
Library Association meeting a couple of years ago.  Thank you for your
