Barcoding

In relation to Marsha Maguire's inquiry about labels (Conservation
DistList Instance: 9:31), this library more than a decade ago chose
foil backed labels to mark several thousand volumes which required
rehousing in a major stack expansion.  These were printed for us by
Gaylord and have served well for a number of years. Most were
applied to buckram covers of library bound periodicals.  Few
problems or failures of these labels have been reported.
