Adhesive for photographs

I have received an enquiry from an artist about adhesives suitable
for photographs.  The artist is using black and white fibre-based
photographs and wishes to adhere plastic diamantes to the front
surface of the photographs.  The artist is very concerned about the
stability of the adhesive she uses as she does not want stains to
develop on the photographs.

Does anyone have any suggestions for adhesives that would be most
suitable for this purpose?
