Re: Barcoding in Special Collections



At Oberlin College barcodes are attached to an acid free tafg which
extends above the book.  The barcodes are attached ito the area which
extends, thus never touching the book.  The only prbossible problem with
this is tht at should the tag and the book cobecome separated , of if th
   e call
# is not written on the tag, it is impossawould be hard to reunite the
   m.  So far
it has not been a problem, and since all new books have the call # on
the tag, it is only cause for concern ion the old books whose cal #s
(shudder) are on the spinell #
