foam supports

When Peter Herdrich, Gary Frost and I videotaped HOW TO OPERATE A BOOK
in 1986-87, we needed to show the Clarkson foam bookrests but there
wasn't yet a set in the country. So we bought some foam blocks and
Frost used an electric carving knife to make the shapes we needed: it
took him almost no time at all to do. My impression is that the
commercially available supports aren't terribly expensive; but if you
have somebody around who is handy with a carving knife, you may want to
do it yourself.
