Mr. Dawson and Mr. Belanger

I certainly don't want to run the risk of inadvertant "flaming" here - so
I hope my comment is not misinterpreted.

I, for one, did not detect anything other than general interest and curiosity
from Terry as to Mr. Dawson's background.

Many of us include in our closing signatures, position title (if appropriate)
or other identification. Doing so seems helpful to me. Perhaps I feel this
way as I am "new" as a Special Collections Cataloger, although I was a
serials librarian and cataloger for 25+ years. But knowing a little more about
a writer helps set the context for his or her remarks.

One of the things that can be useful about electronic forums is identifying
people at particular institutions that one may wish to approach individually
in reference to particular questions, interests or concerns.

I hope that it will be possible for the subscribers of ExLibris to continue to
focus on matters of interest to the rare book community - which certainly
encompasses librarians, scholars, students, dealers and no doubt many other
 categories as well.
