PHOTOGRAPH CATALOGING

Currently, at the Southwest Collection at Texas Tech University, we are
in the process of cataloging our manuscripts and photograph collections
onto OCLC. The LCSH is being used for manuscripts and books; however,
we do not know if we should continue to use the LIBRARY OF CONGRESS
THESAURUS FOR GRAPHIC MATERIALS (LCTGM) for our photographs. What are
other institutions doing in this case? Can we use the LCSH also for our
photographs? Wouldn't this help keep the subject headings uniform for
all formats for the patron's search? Please respond with comments.
