Regarding Paul Sternberg's message about Margaret Alexander.
I am the membership co-ordinator of the Calligraphy Society
of Ottawa, and one of our members is also named Margaret
Alexander. However, I suspect she may not be the one in
question, even though she is Scottish (I believe) and does
beautiful work. She is over 60, but I doubt if she is old
enough to have been a pupil of Edward Johnson. I think we
would have heard about it if she had. The CSO is a small
group of just over 100 rather enthusiastic lovers of
calligraphy and its related crafts.
