Crayon marks

In response to the query of a few weeks ago about removing crayon marks
from a book, I asked Janteet English, paper conservator at the Inter-
museum Conservation lab here in Oberlin for advice. She said that crayon
can be removed but it requires a suction table and solvents which can
present problems when the crayon markings are in a book rather than on
flat sheet of aperpaper. If the requestor for information would like more
details he c/she (I think I remember it was a he) can write to Janet at
ICA, Oberlin

, OH 44074.
