Re: MAP REPAIR

With all due respect to Mr. Moffett, he must have just come back from Set No
Mail land if that map repair question was a problem. Those of you around on
Memorial Day weekend will know what I mean. At least you can't spell map in
both directions.

I subscribe to the conservation list, and I am not sure that it would have
been an appropriate forum for that question. Walter Henry, whom I do not
know personally, seems to be a dedicated, serious conservationist. It would
not surprise me if the map question were not posted to that list. The list
is heavily moderated by Mr. Henry, and it is clear that not everything sent
for posting actually gets posted. Also, postings are not spontaneous. He
saves up until he has enough material to post. Finally, when he is away, as
he has been recently, there are no postings at all. Ex-Libris is a much
surer way to get a fast answer, and it might be the one that I would choose,
especially for a simple question that might be readily answered. Let's
face it, this list is not some rare book reading room where all users get the
third degree before being allowed access to its resources.
