We don't have Irish Family Records or Distinguished Families of the
USA either, but General Armory has a coat of arms that matches your
description under "Bancroft (London, allowed by Camden, Clarenceux,
to Richard Bancroft, Archbishop of Canterbury, 1604)".
Do you have any idea of the possible age of your bookplate? You
might also want to check the Franks Bequest: Cat. of British and
American Bookplates in the British Museum, which lists a couple of
Bancrofts, though none that seem to match exactly your description.
