Re: marbled papers

I can speak from personal experience. I have used
acrylics for marbling and prefer these. The ones I
tried are available at my local craft shop. I have
also experimented with marbling inks, but had no
success. The colours are floated on a bath of
carrageenan mixed with distilled water, which has had
time to rest. Tension builds up on the surface of the
bath each time it is allowed enough time to rest. Books
suggest skimming the bath at the beginning of each
marbling session to remove the tension, however, I like
the effect it gives. The colours do not move easily,
and so the colour of the paper shows through in the many
clear spaces. I can elaborate further if you wish.
Hope this helps!
