The 1993 RBMS Preconference will be in New Orleans, June 22-25, 1993.
Theme of the preconference is "Main Stream or Margin? How Others View
Special Collections." The keynote address will be by John T.Casteen III,
President, University of Virginia. Other speakers include library
directors (Daniel J.Bradbury, Kansas City Public Library; Betty G.
Bengtson, University of Washington; Joan I Gotwals, Emory University);
library mangers (William G.Jones, University of Illinois at Chicago;
Brian Schottlaender, UCLA); scholars (Judith Goldstein, Vassar College,
Steven Watson, NYC); and responders (Stanley Chodorow, UC San Diego, David
Zeidberg, UCLA). Special events include a reception at Historic New
Orleans Collections, an evening at Destrehan Plantation, and a reception
