Chandler & Price Press

We have recently turned down the offer of a Chandler & Price platen printing
press. However, the owner is willing to give it to whomever will remove it from
her basement. It is located in Long Island's Nassau County.

We could not determine the exact model or age of the press. The treadle
mechanism was disengaged years ago and replaced with a motorized drive. The
press is quite dirty and the ink rollers have disintegrated.

It stands about 5 feet tall, and is about 4 feet wide and deep. It needs to be
taken apart before it can be moved up the basement stairs.

Terry Belanger was good enough to inform me that a clamshell press like this
one can be dangerous to operate and has that they have been banned from
teaching operations by OSHA.

If anyone is interested, please send a private message or call me, and I
will relay the information to the owner of the press, who has to empty out her
basement before moving.
