Interesting question. Why would you have a book a patron couldn't read? And
why waste time opening books (and I think that the term "unopened" is clearer
than "uncut" which is often confused with "untrimmed") which no one yet wants
to read. Seems that common sense would say open a book when someone has a need
for it.
