SAA Membership Sweepstakes

The SAA 1994 membership campaign commences this moth with numerous
incentives to encourage new members to join and to increase current
member involvement in the Society. This campaign is designed to
expand awareness of the benefits of SAA membership throughout the
archival profession.

Details about the membership sweepstakes are included in the January
issue of ARCHIVAL OUTLOOK, which is in the mail to SAA members.
Debbie Mills, director of membership services for SAA, has asked
me to post this announcement on the listserv.

The membership sweepstakes program is designed to encourage SAA
members to recruit new members. Once they join SAA, new members
can also participate in the sweepstakes. SAA members who encourage
a nonmember to join can become eligible to win: 1 roundtrip airfare
to the 1994 annual meeting in Indianapolis, 4 nights lodging at
the Westin Hotel, and 1 complimentary meeting registration fee.

A current SAA member, encouraging a nonmember to join, may also
win one of three prizes for other groups that she/he represents:
   * for a Section or Roundtable: $250 for a reception or
      refreshments at the annual meeting
   * for a Student Chapter: $100 for a reception or refreshments
      at the annual meeting
   * for a regional, state or local archival association: $250
      for a reception or refreshments at the SAA annual meeting

New members will receive special attention once they join SAA. In
addition to a new member packet, they will receive information on
how to get involved in SAA and will be provided with special
incentives, including a discount on workshop and annual meeting
registration fees. In addition, one new member who joins SAA
between January 1 - June 3, 1994 will win roundtrip airfare to
the 1994 annual meeting in Indianapolis, four complimentary nights
at the Westin Hotel, and one complimentary meeting registration fee.
A new member must not have previously been an SAA member to be eligible
for the new members' drawing.
