Children's books- Edward McCandlish

Does anyone on the list have Any information at all about Edward Gertsell
McCandlish's work? He was an author, illustrator and artist from approx.
1922-1933, He did a weekly children's page for the Washington Post and worked
also for the Free Press (Detroit) [I am looking through microfilm trying to
collect that work. Recently I found out that he authored and illustrated 21
children's books, I only know the titles of about 7. Characters of the
stories are "Bunny Tots", Brother Bear, Tommy Turtle, Pinky Winky, the Pink Pig,
Daddy Mac, and Chatterbox. He also did several paintings, only one of which
I have seen, and was the author of the famous "Bootlegger's Map", of which
I am told there are 2 different versions. One I have a copy of, the other
I have never seen. Please, if you have any information at all about this
author and artist write me and let me know. No information is too insignificant
, even memories of seeing the Bunny Tots in the Washington Post Children's
page would be interesting to hear. I am hoping to collect a majority of his
work for his great grandchildren and who knows, hopefully make available
an unpublished manuscript "Hospitality in the Hills" with contains stories
and yarns of times during the civil war, as well as other "lost" artworks
of this folk artist. Thank you. Karen McCandlish
