WILLIAM MORRIS SOCIETY: CALLS FOR PAPER FOR 1996 MLA CONVENTION
The William Morris Society will sponsor two sessions of papers at the Modern
Language Association annual convention, to be held December 1996 in
Washington, DC. Proposals are invited on the following topics:
"100 Years On: Morris's Literary Reputation." How his literary work--in all
its branches--has been viewed during his lifetime and, especially, during the
century after his death.
"William Morris the Critic." Analyses and interpretations of Morris's
criticism of literature, society, architecture, and the visual arts.
Speakers do not need to be members of the Society and we particularly welcome
submissions from people outside the fields of English literature.
