Dear Colleagues,
I am sorry this message gives rather short notice. The Historic
Libraries Forum, a non profit making British based organisation
which aims to provide support and information for the types of
library which the main professional organisations largely ignore,
is holding its fifth annual FORUM in London on Saturday 16
November 1996 from 1030 am to 4 pm , at Dr Williams' Library,
Gordon Square.
The subject is ONE PERSON LIBRARIES but of course it should
be of interest to those with 'not very many' staff ! The HLF AGM
will take place during the day and talks will include
'A Day in the Life...'
'Employing' voluntary staff
Increasing staffing levels
Training and Skills Development
The Librarian AND Archivist
Confessions of a Lapsed Technophobe
The Place of a small library within a large organisation
There will be time for discussion and exchange of
experiences and suggestions.
The cost of the meeting will be pounds 17.50 per head
and an optional lunch ( which was jolly good last year) is pounds
7.50 extra.
There are still some places available and anyone interested
is welcome to attend ; the Secretary of the HLF, Mrs Clare
Sargent, Radley College can be FAXed on 01235 543041 or those
wishing to attend are welcome to book by sending an e-mail to the
undersigned and I will pass their names on.
I look forward to seeing you there
Peter D Hingley
