Connection between early books and manuscripts=20

I am a graduate student in history and work in the National and=20
University Library of Iceland. I have been following EXLIBRIS for some=20
time. In the next months I will start writing a paper about the=20
connection between early printed Icelandic books and manuscripts or=20
copies of them.=20

Printing of books started in Iceland in 1534 and most of the texts where=20
of theological nature. Icelandic society was poor so it was not unusual=20
to copy texts of the printed books, in whole or parts, and in the=20
manuscript department of the library there is a lot of copies of those=20
early printed books which are in some way altered from the original=20
version. The aim of the research is to see reading habits and what was=20
popular at the time. The period in question is from late 16th century to=20
the beginning of the 18th.

And my question is: Has something been written about this connection=20
between printed books and manuscripts or copies of the printed text.=20
Articles or monographs which take on the theory or ideology.
