I am working with the Anglo-Dutch historian Harold Cook on an entry for the
New Dictionary of National Biography on the anatomical engraver Geminus
(fl. 1545), about whom almost nothing is known. The possibility that he
could be the son or close relative of the famous Leuven professor of
medicine and mathematics Gemma Frisius, teacher of Mercator and Vesalius,
has occurred to us. Does anybody have suggestions as to the best place to
search for more information?
With thanks,
