I'm trying to determine the works that were in the library of the Earls
of Westmoreland when the library was dispersed in four sales in the late
nineteenth century. The first sale was at Sotheby's on 13-15 July, 1887
(1062 lots). The next sale was at Christie's on 16 July 1892 (lots 411-62);
the third was at Sotheby's on 25 Nov. 1892; and the final sale was at Puttick
and Simpson's, 27 July 1893 (lots 243-62).
<p>Do any of you know how I could obtain copies of the catalogues for these
auctions? I haven't yet contacted the auction houses (that's my next order
of business); it was suggested by some colleagues on the SHARP list that
I contact EXLIBRIS first.
