Dear Colleagues:
I need your advice on how to handle this customer.
Mr. Willard has owed me $700 for two months and $1,300
for one month. Please respond privately unless the info
is too good not to share...
Sincerely,
Christopher Hartman

> Chris, I am Willard Library. The Library
is and has been for the last 7 > months in my
name and mine alone. You dealt with me and
must continue to do so. None of my brother's
names apopear on any paper showing ownership of
> the Willard Library of Genealogical Research.
I am the sole legal owner and the only one
involved with any transactions with you, poor dear..

> I am quite capable and have the education to
respond Pro-Se in any action you wish to instigate.
I have instigated an action against you through a
> very good friend who is an attorney in Boston.
He will prepare the paperwork as I am not familiar
with the Massachusetts Court's practice book.
> Me and me alone will deal with you, and you
will deal with me alone in this alledged transactions.

“You have worn out any possibility of an equitable
solution of the problem at hand. This matter will
in fact be turned over to our attorney with
instructions to file suit against Mr. Hartman since
he has violated several Federal and Connecticut
state laws by his behavior, actions and lies that
he is spreading around. Now, you want to know the
truth of this matter, OK, here it is:
>
> The week of Thanksgiving we had a contractor come
in to install 8 additional bookcases. While doing
their work, they discovered that several of the
> building's studs were rotten and suggested
strongly that repairs be made. We agreed a major
construction work was begun. We had to cover 75%
of the building, including our offices with tarps
to prevent dust and other construction debris
from ruining computers, paper work &c. This work
was not completed until January 4, 2000. While
construction was under way we were closed and
our employees sent home without pay because our income
also stopped.
>
> Ebay, which is a very small part of our business,
was managed at my home computer as we had ongoing
sales and had to conclude several transactions,
> items that had already sold.
>
> On January 1, 2000, New Years day, my oldest
brother passed away very unexpectedly. He was
the major contributor (Management, day to day
> operations &c.) for the library. On January
14, 2000, upon the recommendation of our attorneys,
the Library was shut down and remains
> closed until his estate is probated and we
know where we stand. All employees have been
laid off.
>
> Now you know the truth, which would have been
explained to Chris If I was allowed to speak and
he was willing to listen, which Mr. Hartman would
> not.
>
> The company Books And Time, which is on Ebay,
is not associated in any way with the Willard Library
as of January 17, 2000 as I was able to convince
> a Probate Judge that it is fact was a separate
company. Changes in advertising &c. is being made
to reflect this.
>
> At the time Willard Library shut down there were
several out standing invoices, some for books,
some for clocks and some for other items. At a
> meeting on Friday, January 14, permission was
granted to return all items that were purchased
by the Library and not paid for. This has already
> begun. The accusation that Books and Time is
selling items that were sold to Willard Library
and not paid for, is absurd. People think that there is
> only one copy of books they sold Willard Library.
Most of the books purchased last year were to
replace books that were no longer useable by
> the library. Culls and books that did not
follow the mission of the Library.
>
> You were included in this list. (Don't forget
that we paid you for the Willard Book.) Because
of Mr. Hartman's behavior, he will be last on the
> list while our attorney files our action against
him and we will see who is owed what. You will
stand alone on this as all of the other book dealers
> with who we have done business will have there books back.
