Dear All,
Many moons ago I asked about provenance indexes for incunabula. There was a
lot of interest so I am updating the situation. I have compiled printer and
provenance indexes for our incunabula. They are at the moment only Word 97
files but I would be happy to forward copies to anyone interested.
Eventually I will try to get them on the Library's web pages. But it would
be helpful to know how much interest there would be before I approach our
web people.
All the incunabula are on our automated catalogue. The quickest way to
review the whole collection is by classmark. Use the browse option, then
choose index; select classmark and type in STRONG ROOM A (note caps).
Unfortunately at the moment the system does not display certain fields in
the full display option. The provenance, binding and citation fields can
only be viewed by going into "Marc tags" or "name tags" displays.
I am intending to display some of our incunabula next term.
Please get in touch if you have any questions, commments, criticisms.
Thanks,
Susan
