Does anyone know of :
1) the book, Le Cloitre St. Mery, written in French in 1832, six months after the student
uprising in Paris, 40 years before the French Revolution. This is a supposed novelization of
the failed two day insurection, whose leader is referred to only as "Jean," and who was tried
for treason and exiled from France. The book is 440 pages and there are apparently 3 copies
(?), one at the Biblioteque National in Paris, one at U. of Kentucky, and another (where ?).
Perhaps there are some volumes in private hands. Yes, it is possibly some of the material used
to produce the novel Les Miserables.
2) Does anyone know if this book has been reproduced in another format such as microfilm/fiche
or placed online? A researcher has borrowed the U. of Kentucky copy, which is in fragile
condition. The researcher needs to translate this material into English and is fearful of using
the item in its present condition since it may cause deterioration of the item.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and help.
