The thing I find such a pity about the moderator's position is that the book business I work for is determined to stay independent. It will close rather than join the ranks of Alibris. We want to know our customers and we want our customers to know us. In order for us to reach our customers, who are often libraries, we need to be able to be part of a list such as this. There is a particular pleasure in being part of the development of important collections - something less likely to come from a relationship with an individual customer. Please, Mr Moderator, do not cut us off from libraries.
