Another example is Elizabeth Blackwell's "A Curious Herbal" of 1737-1739.
A more curious practice is printing engravings and letterpress on the same
page as I encountered with Pierre Pomet's "Histoire Generale des Drogues"
of 1694, where I actually found vairant illustrations between copies
compared.
