I have what looks to be an American book auction catalog dated September 27,
1823, sold by Joel Smith of no. 30 Union Street, but I cannot for the life
of me figure out what city. I've checked McKay, NUC and the American
imprint directories (including indexes), as well as book trade directories
for various cities. I am open to the idea that this could be Canadian, but
it seem unlikely to be British. Does anyone know of this person? Thanks,
