I don't think I've seen it mentioned here yet that the Feb. 5, 2001 issue of the New Yorker (p. 62-71) has a very enjoyable article on book collector Michael Zinman, who is said to exemplify the "critical-mess theory of collecting." The article also features bookseller William Reese, the Library Company of Philadelphia, and other rare book people & places. It's a delight! --Diane Shaw
