A more complex Google search: "Dickens The forces that affect our lives,
the influences that mould and shape us, are often like whispers"
(without the quotes) gives the clue in the first hit that it may be from
Our Mutual Friend. However it is a very long and slow-loading PDF file,
so I leave it to someone else to open it at a better speed than I have.
